Queens of the Stone Age - Rated R (2000)

1. Feel Good Hit of the Summer 2:43
2. The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret 3:36
3. Leg of Lamb 2:48
4. Auto Pilot 4:01
5. Better Living through Chemistry 5:49
6. Monsters in the Parasol 3:27
7. Quick and to the Pointless 1:42
8. In the Fade 4:25
9. Tension Head 2:52
10. Lightning Song 2:07
11. I Think I Lost My Headache 8:40

Queens of the Stone Age is considered by some to be one of the greatest "Stoner Rock" bands around. On this album they recorded nearly every track about, what else, drugs and booze. No surprise there. As a kid I can remember hearing the first single, "The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret", late at night on New York's K-ROCK Radio and I knew they were doing big things. This album is trippy, this album is heavy, the lyrics are deep, and the melodies are entrancing. It's everything you could ever ask for in a rock album.

Radiohead - OK Computer (1997)

1 Airbag (4:44)
2 Paranoid Android (6:23)
3 Subterranean Homesick Alien (4:27)
4 Exit Music (For A Film) (4:24)
5 Let Down (4:59)
6 Karma Police (4:21)
7 Fitter Happier (1:57)
8 Electioneering (3:50)
9 Climbing Up The Walls (4:45)
10 No Surprises (3:48)
11 Lucky (4:19)
12 The Tourist (4:25)

Although this album was released only 3 years prior to Kid A, the feel is completely different. The album is more rock oriented and received more airplay because of it. Most people remember this album for Karma Police's radio success and Paranoid Android's ridiculous video.

Radiohead - Kid A (2000)

1 Everything In Its Right Place (4:11)
2 Kid A (4:44)
3 The National Anthem (5:51)
4 How To Disappear Completely (5:56)
5 Treefingers (3:42)
6 Optimistic (5:16)
7 In Limbo (3:31)
8 Idioteque (5:09)
9 Morning Bell (4:35)
10 Motion Picture Soundtrack (7:01)

Kid A is, imo, the best Radiohead album to date. Each track flaunts its own personality and seamlessly combines various rock and electronic genres, like IDM and alternative rock. The tracks are very structured which is amazing given the general spaceyness in their tone.

What a beautiful album. From beginning to end (and even the cover art), this is a masterpiece, blending experimental rock with electronic beats. Animal Collective comes from B-More, MD, and this is their 8th (EIGHTH!) LP. Check out Summertime Clothes and Daily Routine.

2 I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor (2:53)
3 Fake Tales Of San Francisco (2:57)
4 Dancing Shoes (2:21)
5 You Probably Couldn't See For The Lights But You Were Staring Straight At Me (2:10)

7 Riot Van (2:14)
8 Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secured (2:23)

11 When The Sun Goes Down (3:20)
12 From The Ritz To The Rubble (3:13)
13 A Certain Romance (5:33)

This is the debut album from the Arctic Monkeys, an indie rock band from the UK. I guess they're post-punk revival if you want to be a dick about it. I have a feeling their studio is filled with Stratocasters, cigarette butts, and whiskey bottles. Good stuff
