He singlehandedly created a genre of music with such a following and presence that it continues to thrive and develop as a force in deep south hip hop culture long after his passing. This is just one in a collection of hundreds of mixtapes Screw released through his label, Screwed Up Records & Tapes. Rest in peace, DJ Screw.

2562 - Unbalance (2009)

Untitled 1:28
Flashback 4:40
Lost 4:21
Like A Dream 4:21
Dinosaur 5:01
Unbalance 7:21
Superflight 7:41
Yes/No 6:08
Who Are You Fooling? 6:27
Narita 5:08
Love In Outer Space 4:57
Escape Velocity 6:08

I've posted work from Dutch artist, 2562, in the past, but I have to say, this completely blew me away. This is 2562's most recent full length album and, I'm ashamed to say that, this came out in 2009 and I went months without posting it. Similar to his album Aerial, this is a style of music that's very drum heavy, offbeat, repetitive, and glitchy at times. Be sure to listen to track 5, 'Dinosaur'.

Here's one of my favorite mixes from dubstep prodigy, Mensah. He's done some work with J@kes at the HENCH Label and is working out of Bristol, U.K.. Not only does this mix sound like straight fire, so do his original tracks that he works in. Expect big things from this guy.

Also, my last post about LCD Soundsystem's This is Happening was deleted because of some copyright act bullshit. I can't host it, but you can find it yourself

Lindstrøm - Where You Go I Go Too (2008)

1. "Where You Go I Go Too" – 28:58
2. "Grand Ideas" – 10:10
3. "The Long Way Home" – 15:58

Norwegian electronic artist, Lindstrøm, put together this space-disco-esque album in 2008 on the Norwegian label, Smalltown Supersound, and it was almost instantly received well by critics. This album walks the line between ambient and dance that is very hard to put into words. All I can say is that it's good. Really damn good.

Queens of the Stone Age - Rated R (2000)

1. Feel Good Hit of the Summer 2:43
2. The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret 3:36
3. Leg of Lamb 2:48
4. Auto Pilot 4:01
5. Better Living through Chemistry 5:49
6. Monsters in the Parasol 3:27
7. Quick and to the Pointless 1:42
8. In the Fade 4:25
9. Tension Head 2:52
10. Lightning Song 2:07
11. I Think I Lost My Headache 8:40

Queens of the Stone Age is considered by some to be one of the greatest "Stoner Rock" bands around. On this album they recorded nearly every track about, what else, drugs and booze. No surprise there. As a kid I can remember hearing the first single, "The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret", late at night on New York's K-ROCK Radio and I knew they were doing big things. This album is trippy, this album is heavy, the lyrics are deep, and the melodies are entrancing. It's everything you could ever ask for in a rock album.
